How is This Even Legal? Williams College Econ Department Promotes Another Whites Need Not Apply Program

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Looks like the newly woke Economics Department at Williams College has sunk to new lows. Right now, their identity politics pandering appears disgusting, even pre-illegal. They have taken to Twitter to promote their whites need not apply Bolin Dissertation and Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Economics.

According to the advertisement for the fellowship, this generous program is designed to exclude whites. It says: "The Gaius Charles Bolin Fellowships at Williams College are designed to promote diversity on college faculties by encouraging students from underrepresented groups to complete a terminal graduate degree and to pursue careers in college teaching."

A tweet from the department's account in response to an on-line complaint about the program claims that "The ad has more info - the list of example dimensions of under representation is long and absolutely not limited to race."

Here's the exact wording of the eligibility for the fellowship:
The Bolin Fellowships are awarded to applicants from underrepresented groups, including ethnic minorities, those who are first-generation college graduates, women in predominately male fields, or disabled scholars.
The Economics Department's promotion of this whites need not apply program occurs in an increasingly anti-white, anti-male climate at Williams College. The school came to national attention earlier this year when video of a unhinged, bigoted tirade against young white men was discovered by national media including The College Fix. The footage revealed a vicious, extended racist attack on white male members of the College Council. Critics noticed that virtually no one tried to protect the white men from verbal abuse and threats during the April 9, 2019 rant.

The College Fix has also called national attention to an upcoming “New Voices in Science and Technology Studies: A C3 Symposium,” set for early November 2019 which denied young white graduate students from participation as presenters.

It gets even more bizarre. As seen in the tweet above from the Williams College Economics Department, they doubled down their mistake by suggesting that similar programs biased against white graduate students should be worldwide.  Earlier, they had even asserted their unhappiness with the fact that they could not offer this lucrative fellowship to an illegal alien.

Love this too. Found myself blocked from reading any more tweets from @WilliamsEcon.

Apparently, anyone fighting against the anti-white, anti-male bias of the Williams College Economics Department needs to be avoided at all costs. Wouldn't it be simpler just to treat everyone fairly? Wouldn't it be easier to end a generation of institutionalized discrimination against young white male graduate students? How much longer does the Economics Department at Williams College want to make life harder and more difficult for hard-working white graduate students doing the best possible work?

Failure to Launch: Williams College Alum Richard Kennard

I imagine Williams Liberty readers share my fascination with researching leftist extremists from Williams College who seek to leverage their elite credentials even though they are now something of an embarrassment to the school and themselves - even years after graduation. Many of them, I suspect, should never have been at Williams in the first place.

Recent examples include Kai Green ’07, an assistant professor of women’s, gender and sexuality studies (WGSS) at Williams College, who was arrested after walking through Williamstown in the nude.

There is also liberal extremist Miles Klee '07 who I judge to be Williams College's most famous published novelist and bookstore event manager.

Now we have Richard Kennard '10, a Democrat party activist/insurance salesman in Las Vegas, NV. I noticed him bragging on Twitter about his Williams College degree as he was verbally abusing a conservative who had the temerity to question leftist dogma.

A quick look at Kennard's LinkedIn profile shows he reports he took seven years to complete his Williams College education. I was thinking at first that this was a typo, but one of his other resume items regarding his work as a volunteer tutor also confirmed he started at Williams College in 2003. As best I can tell, he dropped out of an MA program at Columbia University too. (If I have any of this wrong, I'm happy to alter my report.)

He is clearly a Democrat party extremist. Check out the screed below:

Ideally, the stories of failure to launch graduates will be helpful to current students. At the very least, they should probably avoid participating in dead end majors that have few job prospects. I assume the alumni magazine doesn't put much attention on these left-wing fanatic losers. Readers, however, can always visit Williams Liberty to get a more complete and realistic picture of the actual life trajectories of its former students.

By the way, the alumni office of someone should teach these kids how to do their LinkedIn pages better. It is ridiculous to use this site to promote negative advertising about yourself.

Children of the Corn: Williams Record Applauds Climate Strike with Participation of Elementary School Kids

More nonsense from the Williams Record today. Apparently, the Williams College students who organized the climate strike last Friday did so with a lot more participation from the youngest of school kids that I had originally expected. In a move that undoubtedly caught the attention of woke pedophiles, the so called climate strike attracted students from Greylock Elementary School, Mount Greylock Regional School and The Buxton School.

Elsewhere, critics of similar events have called attention to them as a form of child abuse which threatens the children's health. The unproven and tenuous Climate change fears have caused anxiety in children as young as 10 who seriously believe the world is about to end. The problem is so widespread the American Psychological Association now calls it: eco anxiety. Fortunately, any child concerned about the future of the planet can quickly check the facts and learned that this is just the latest in a series of lies told about the future from leftist activists whose real intent is to frighten little children to gain political power.

As you may know, an organization called Fridays For Future, founded by tiny Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, is mobilizing young people for a second climate strike on September 27, 2019,

Greta Thunberg looks like she is 12. In reality, she is a mentally ill kid who has suffered from depression and eating disorders for years. She also have a developmental disorder called Asperger’s. Patience with Asperger's display a similar brand of occasional mutism, balanced out with compulsive behavior and a taste for righteous indignation. In real life, Thunberg is a 16 year old who has apparently missed out on puberty.

In full Aspoerger's glory, Thunberg delivered a weird speech on climate change to the United Nations General Assembly on Monday. She lambasted world leaders for failing to take action on a matter which has paper thin scientific support. “How dare you,” she said. “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words."

For good reason, Fox News host Laura Ingraham likened Thunberg to the children from the film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Children of the Corn.” Thunberg sees her neurological diagnosis as an advantage, even a superpower. “I have Asperger’s, I’m on the autism spectrum, so I don’t really care about social codes that way,” she said.

Climate change fearmongering is inciting anxiety in children as young as 10 who fear the end of the world is near. The problem is so widespread the American Psychological Association has coined a term for it: eco anxiety.

Unfortunately, the Williams Record has apparently signed on to support the creation of a new generation of robot children mindlessly repeating the same leftist nonsense which has been routinely and consistently debunked before. What a mess. As I've said elsewhere, I'm quite confident that, on balance, Williams College creates more mental illness than it cures.

Neither Good Nor Godly: The Fall of Williams College

I have said elsewhere that Williams College is a great school that went out of business in the 1980s. Overtime, it looks like more and more folks are coming to the same conclusion.

For example, I saw a very brief, but compelling article in American Greatness today that is worth reviewing. The author is Bill Asher is a writer and retired executive. He lives with his family in Massachusetts. It reads as follows:

To see the campus of Williams College is to read the story of America.
To see the beauty of brick and gold yield to the banality of steel and concrete is to read a story about the decline and fall of both a college and a country. It is a story about the deconsecration of a building and the desecration of an idea, of a chapel that looks like the state house of a city upon a hill, that bears the likeness of the State House atop Beacon Hill, that embodies the spirit—that is the work of the Holy Spirit—where faithfulness to God complements fidelity to the Constitution.

To see the halo above the house of the Lord, to see the brilliance of providence amidst robes of purple mountains majesty, to see a landmark of liberty in a capital city, to go from a chapel without congregants to a statehouse with no memory of the principles of the Congregational church, to go from one end of Massachusetts to the other—from the Berkshires to Boston Harbor—is to go from an abandoned colony of enlightenment to a commonwealth of intellectual darkness.

Steven Gerrard, professor of philosophy, is witness to the fast undoing of certain unalienable rights at Williams.

His column about the transformation of Williams from a Christian college to a college without Christian ideals or gentlemanly behavior—he calls it a “comfort college”—is a warning about the death of the life of the mind. “When the pursuit of knowledge slips down the hierarchy of virtues,” Gerrard writes, “so do the accompanying virtues that nurture its discovery.”

That he writes with firmness in the right, that he sees the rightness of the truth, that he hears the marching of the truth, that he seeks to join hands to restore the truth, proves that one righteous man exists—that nine other souls may exist—to spare Williams from destruction.

For the sake of a great institution, let us pray for the arrival of 10 good men.
